The German Air Force mourns the loss of officer Benni Kakert. The honored military aviator has won 21 battles around the globe. His unique way of operating the Starfighter F-104 made him internationally infamous and feared. His death leaves nothing but an empty gap in our troops and in our hearts.

Next to his love for flying, Benni Kakert followed his second passion, painting. With his unusual style of doing portraits, he earned the respect of his comrades and the acceptance of his superiors. In his many exhibitions in barracks and military camps around Berlin, Benni Kakert proofed skill and never failed to gain moral support within the troops.

Benni Kakert leaves behind two wives, 13 sons and a daughter from his first marriage.

Rest in Peace.
